That’s why we’re so excited to expand our pediatric eye care offerings with the addition of Dr. Isabella Simmons, a comprehensive optometrist specializing in children's vision and early eye health.

Dr. Simmons is now seeing patients at our Downtown Birmingham, Vestavia, and Gardendale clinics, and is currently accepting new patients, from newborns through teens.

As a provider, Dr. Simmons combines clinical expertise with a warm, approachable style that helps kids feel at ease in the exam chair. Her goal is simple: to make pediatric eye care less intimidating, more fun, and always thorough. Whether it’s a first eye exam, contact lens fitting, or ongoing care for conditions like myopia control, Dr. Simmons is passionate about giving every child the tools they need to succeed.

“Early detection is everything when it comes to children’s vision,” Dr. Simmons says. “Many kids don’t know how to express that something is wrong with their eyes. Routine exams can help us catch issues before they impact learning, development, or confidence.”

In addition to her work with children, Dr. Simmons also manages adult glaucoma care, helping families get comprehensive treatment in one place.
